Matamata Hearing Association
Our association is hear to help and support those in Matamata and Districts with a hearing disability, share information, education and social events. We are a not for profit charity, all our services are free so come and chat to us prior to buying a hearing aid, we can help with useful information (when often there is so much to take in).
Often you may find it difficult to mingle out in noisy cafes so we have morning teas and lunches during the year, where our members enjoy entertainment, speakers, lucky spot prizes and delicious food.
Our trained Dangerous Decibels teacher and office manager is out in the schools talking about the “dangers of loud noise for too long is too much noise”. Also, she is available to be a speaker at any of the local groups and service clubs in our town.
We sell best priced batteries in town. Also available - hearing aid filters, domes, and assistive devices with very minimal mark up on price.
Difficulty hearing the TV… come and see us.
We have an Ear Nurse Specialist who attends our rooms once a week for micro suction services. She is ACC accredited, very experienced having previously worked through the hospital system.
We visit the local rest home to check on their residents, ears and hearing aids.
Do YOU have hearing problems? Come in and see us, even if it is just for a friendly chat
Mon – Thurs 9am to 12pm: You will find Bridget and Lynn behind the desk (or Pam our wonderful volunteer).
We would love to see you.
ALL OUR SERVICES ARE FREE (there is a charge for the Ear Nurse).
