Ashburton Hearing Association
The ASHBURTON HEARING ASSOCIATION (Inc.) is a Registered Charity and member of Hearing New Zealand.
It is governed by Executive Officers and a Committee who meet regularly.
Ashburton Hearing Association Inc. was established in 1957 to assist those with hearing impairment and support people experiencing tinnitus.
Those objectives remain the same but delivery of help has changed with time.
In recent years the Association has focused on providing social activities for our members and some community outreach.
We arrange annual free public Seminars focusing on matters relating to hearing health.
Our Association is proud to be a partner with Advance Ashburton Community Foundation (AACF) following the establishment of The Ashburton Hearing Association Fund.
That fund is providing educational scholarships for students with hearing impairment or for the study of audiology or sign language, as well as grants to support hearing impaired children.
The Branch has also made some grants for educational purposes.
We are a partner in the Ashburton Seniors Centre where most of our social activates – afternoon teas and lunches – are held.
